Mildred Elosie Richardson Bright

Mildred Eloise Richardson Bright, age 85, of Hallsboro, NC passed away peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2024 at Lower Cape Fear Angel House, Whiteville, NC.  Mildred was born to the late Louella Tedder Strickland in Columbus County on June 26, 1938.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by brothers; Dennis Richardson, David Richardson, Darryll Richardson and Dewey Richardson, and a sister; Ann R. Tedder.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband; James Allen Bright, her daughters; Cynthia Diane B. Garrell of Florence, SC, and Connie B. Shuman (Kevin) of Whiteville, grandchildren; Christopher Brandon Bright, Brett Michael Shuman, Cynthia Lee Anne Sullivan, Natalie Diane Price, Amanda Grey Boswell, and Crystal Renee Garrell, great grandchildren; Eric Trelaun Sullivan, Alexis Briana Sullivan and seven other great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, a sister; Judy R. Hester (Donald) of Hallsboro and brothers; Donald Richardson (Beverly) of Hendersonville, NC and Douglas Richardson of Whiteville, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, at 3:30 pm in the McKenzie Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Aaron Jeffords officiating.  Burial will follow in Flynn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:30 pm – 3:15 pm prior to the service.
