Carolyn Yvonne Kelly Simmons Malpass

Carolyn Yvonne Kelly Simmons Malpass, age 83, of Bolton, NC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Shoreland Health and Retirement, Whiteville, NC.  Carolyn was born on Christmas day, December 1942, in Columbus County to the late Dr. Kelly and Ester Malpass.  In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband; Mason Bell Malpass, daughters; Carla Denise Geddins, Pamela Yvonne Simmons Benson, and Debra Ann Wint Smith.

Carolyn worked for several years as a CNA at Whiteville/Columbus Regional Hospital.  She was an active member of Piney Grove Advent Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her son/son in law; Kevin Smith of Chadbourn, a grandson; Christopher Mintz, a granddaughter; Ashley Mintz, cousins; Joyce Padgett, Annette Malpass and multiple other cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 11:00 am at Piney Grove Advent Church, Delco.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:30 am – 11:00 am prior to the service.
